So we had a little technical difficulty last week with our Presentation for Trione-Annadel State Park Group and we could not get the PowerPoint going, as mentioned during the make shift presentation, here are the silhouettes we talked about, feel free to download, print or share. Learning Raptor Identification is tricky, learning each Species is part of a Genus, those Genus are represented in these Silhouettes.
Genus is a generic term used in the classification of living organisms or binomial nomenclature. For instance, In the contexts of botany, genus is a taxonomic group that classifies more than one species of plants that are closely related in characteristics.
So for Birds of Prey; Family, Genus, Species would be for instance;
Family = Accipitridae (Hawks and Eagles),
Genus = Eagles (Aquila),
Species = Golden Eagle (Chrysaetos)
Below are silhouettes of Genus's of North American Birds of Prey.
