2020 Lower Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge - Butte Valley Wildlife Area, a West County Hawkwatch Annual Expedition, Either late February or early March, 1 day up, 2 days there, 1 day back, email Larry at northcoastraptor@gmail.com for details, lots of planning and logistics for this event.



The Solano Land Trust the events have no limit on attendance.

Same with Madrone Audubon there has been no limits on attendance base.

For The Wildlands Conservancy and Sonoma Land Trust, events often have limits of 15 to 20 attendees and most a booked early, via membership announcements. Sometimes people book early then cancel and openings happen. Hence signing up for the waitlist is a great way to gain access to these popular outings. Even if outing is booked, if you are interested sign up on wait list and possibly you'll be able to attend.

North Bay Area Birds of Prey Trips. January to March 2019 West Cointy Hawkwatch


January 5th - RR open space – (time TBD)
Rush Ranch Open Space (Raptor Identification and Natural History PowerPoint Presentation & Susuin Hills hike) Solano Land Trust. Rush Ranch Open Space provides raptors with habitat where they can hunt and rest. Each year from fall through late winter, Solano Land Trust docent and raptor expert, Larry Broderick, leads hikes and workshops so others can learn about the birds of prey that call Solano Land Trust properties home.  During this viewing season, you can join other binocular-wielding people who appreciate the connection between Solano Land Trust's protected ranchland and open spaces and the birds that rely on those lands for habitat. These lands have resident yearlong raptors in addition to its wintertime visitors. During fall and winter the bird population can double or triple. “It's a wild, remote wilderness, and yet it's right in our backyard," says Larry Broderick. “Rush Ranch has a great prey base, and that is a testament to Solano Land Trust's ecosystem management."

Galt Birding Festival, West County Hawkwatch Raptor presentation, natural history and identification with rare regional updates, Saturday.

Sears Point, Baylands, Dickson Ranch, wetlands (Flyway Festival) Sonoma Land Trust, Sunday.
Experience this Baylands restoration in process, Sonoma Land Trust and San Pablo Bay’s flagship wetlands Restoration project in full swing, the former Dickson Ranch now a wetland along with the reestablished Baylands wetlands, with open Ag Space all around, provides a winter wonderland of Raptors, we’ve seen all seven diurnal Birds of Prey forms out here over the years, so this walk always delivers exciting sights.
 

 
February 17th 10am to 2pm

Let’s look to the fall skies with raptor enthusiast and California Certified Naturalist Larry Broderick!
